Traffic stop leads to Timpson officers arresting two for drug possession

A traffic stop by Timpson Police Officers has lead to the arrest of two Timpson men on drug charges.

 

According to Officer Michael Williams, he and Officer Thomas Jernigan pulled over a Chevy pickup around 9 Monday night at Bremond and North Fourth Street. Williams said as he and Jernigan approached the vehicle, the passenger, 40-year old Cody Dewayne Williams attempted to flee, but was apprehended immediately.

 

Officers discovered a drug pipe in the floor board of the vehicle, as well as a .32 firearm in the front-seat. In addition, Officer Williams said suspect Cody Williams also tried to discard drugs underneath the pickup.

 

The driver of the pickup, 23-year old Jeremy Dwayne Turner was also taken into custody.

 

Both were charged with Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Williams had additional charges of Unlawful Carry of a Firearm and Tampering/Fabricate Evidence. Turner was also wanted for Failure to Appear, Original Charge of Deadly Conduct.
