Two Texas Rangers and an expert witnesses were among those that took the stand Friday during Day 3 of Deedra Grubbs’ Capital Murder trial in Center.
The 39-year old Grubbs is accused of being an accomplice to her husband during the violent crime spree over two years ago in Shelby County, that resulted in the shooting death of one, and injuring of two others by Bobbie Dewayne Grubbs.

During Friday’s testimony Ranger Huff was asked by defense attorney Rudy Valasquez several times if Deedra Grubbs shot someone at the motel, he said he had no personal proof of that. However, the ranger said it was possible she may have known about the shootings.
Ranger Rayburn also read from two letters that Deedra Grubbs had written to her daughters, saying how much she loved them, that she had failed her daughters, she was sorry and, “me and your dad thought we were doing this to help our money problems but that didn’t work.”
Ranger Rayburn did confirm when asked by Valasquez that Deedra did care about her kids.
Dallas County Crime Lab pathologist Dr. Chester Gwynn testified that Martha Chan’s death was by homicide.
Testimony enters its fourth day this morning in Judge Charles Mitchell’s courtroom.
Deedra Grubbs faces life in prison without parole if found guilty.
