It’s rodeo week in Shelby County, as the oldest continuous rodeo in East Texas will be held at 7:30 p.m. this Friday and Saturday night, at the Shelby County Expo Center.

The 61st annual Shelby County Sheriff’s Posse PRCA Rodeo promises great rodeo action from some of the top professional cowboys in the business. Tickets have been reduced this year, and are available pre-sale and at the gate for $5, and available at Boles Feed, Triple J Feed and Wright Chrysler Dodge Jeep. You’ll be able to save a dollar Saturday night at the gate by just wearing your western hat. Kids 6 and under get in free.

There will be a calf scramble each night for kids 10 and under with cash prizes. Entertainment will be provided by three different East Texas Equestrian Drill Teams. The Rustlers, the 4-8 year olds; The Young Guns, the 8-14 year olds; and The Roughriders, age 15 & up.
