Timpson ISD in search of high-altitude balloon package

The Timpson ISD is asking for your help in locating a high altitude balloon science package that’s gone missing. The school district in sponsorship with Devon Energy Corporation launched the project that reached an altitude of 100,000 feet above Panola and Shelby counties. However, radio contact with the balloon package was lost on descent with no communication reestablished.

Computer flight models predicted a landing area in southern Panola County and northern Shelby County. Timpson ISD and Devon Energy is requesting the help of landowners in the predicted landing area to search their properties for the flight package. It is asked that if you find any part of the flight package that you call the Timpson ISD Administration at 254-2463, that's 254-2463, and leave your phone number. You will be contacted later by proper personnel. You do not need to recover any of the components of the package as they are highly sensitive instruments. Documentation of the contents and location of landing is essential in establishing key flight events. There's no environment health risks.
