Deedra Grubbs' capital murder trial to start Tuesday with jury selection

After her husband was found guilty last week by a Shelby County Jury, the capital murder trial of Deedra Grubbs is set to begin tomorrow morning in Judge Charles Mitchell’s 273rd District Courtroom.

 

Bobbie Dewayne Grubbs was sentenced to life in prison without parole last Monday for the death of Martha Acevedo-Chan in April 2012 at the Joaquin Country Inn. In addition, Grubbs was found guilty on two counts of aggravated assault for shooting two other employees of the motel, Quinton Watts and Marilyn Retamar.

 

Deedra Grubbs also faces life in prison without parole. The trial will begin with jury selection.
