Game warden severely injured in boating accident on Sam Rayburn

On Sam Rayburn Sunday afternoon, an off-duty Texas Parks & Wildlife game warden was critically injured.

Warden Henry Alvarado was somehow thrown out of the boat he was in and the boat engine’s propeller cut his leg, leaving severe trauma.

Paramedics are saying another game warden is being credited with saving Alvarado’s life.

It’s reported the main artery in the warden’s leg was severed, and the other game warden applied pressure tourniquets, keeping Alvarado from bleeding to death.

He was flown by medical helicopter to a Beaumont hospital where he’s undergoing treatment for the injury.
