Today is Final Day to Vote Early for Party Primary Run-off Election, Tuesday Polling Places Listed

Today's the final day for early voting for next Tuesday's Party Primary Run-off Election. Registered voters have through the end of business today to cast their ballots. There's one local run-off race, and it’s in San Augustine County between Steve Bryan and David McEachern (McKatherine) for the Republican Party Pct. 4 Commissioner position.

 

There's several state-wide Republican Party run-offs, including the nominee for lieutenant governor between incumbent David Dewhurst and Dan Patrick, state railroad commission nominee between Wayne Christian and Ryan Sitton; attorney general between Ken Paxton and Dan Branch; and state agriculture commissioner Sid Miller and Tommy Merritt.

 

Democratic state-wide run-offs include U.S. Senate as Kesha Rogers faces off with David Alameel; and commissioner of agriculture as Kinky Friedman takes on Jim Hogan.

 

Early voting in Shelby County is taking place at County Clerk Allison Harbison’s office on the downtown Center Square from 8 to 4:30 through Friday, while San Augustine County voters can cast their early ballots at Election Administrator Deborah Wood’s Office in the El Camino Justice Center from 8 to 4, and the Broaddus Community Center from 9-4. A reminder: If you voted in a party primary, you can only vote in that same party’s runoff”.  If you did not vote in the March 4 Primary you may still vote and can vote in the runoff election for either party.

 

Tuesday's polling places have been combined in most precincts. In Shelby County: Precincts 1 N, 1 SO, 1 SE, 1 SW, 1W, and 2 at Center Church of Christ; Precincts 3, 4, 6, 7 in Shelbyville at First Baptist Church; Precinct 5 at Joaquin First United Methodist Church; Precinct 8 at Tenaha First United Methodist Church; and Precincts 9 N, 9 S at the Timpson School Gym Foyer.

 

San Augustine County polling locations Tuesday: Precinct 1 at San Augustine High School Gym Lobby; Precincts 2, 5, 11 at Reed Chapel Baptist Church, in San Augustine; Precinct 3, 6, 7, 8  at the Senior Citizens Building, in San Augustine; Precinct 4 at First United Methodist Church in San Augustine; Precinct 9 at Long Pines Baptist Church, Hwy 83 @ old FM 705 and Precinct 10 at Chinquapin Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

 

Polls will be open from 7 to 7 Tuesday, and remember you must have your ID in order to vote.
