DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated a shooting incident in Logansport Tuesday night which resulted from a domestic dispute.

According to a press release, 25-year old Eric D. Ford was arrested after he retrieved a shotgun from a car and shot multiple rounds striking one victim in the shoulder as he attempted to leave the scene, and another that tried to rush Ford and disarm him.

The disturbance occurred in the 400 block of Pierce Road in Logansport around 8:15 p.m. Authorities say both gunshot victims were able to leave the residence and later call 9-1-1 with non-life threatening injuries. Another victim was later battered by Ford inside the residence.

Eric Ford was arrested on two counts of Aggravated Second Degree Battery and a count of Domestic Abuse Battery. Upon booking in the DeSoto Parish Detention Center, deputies recovered three narcotic pills that Ford did not have a prescription for. He was then charged with Possession of Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Institution.
