Larry Pierce

Larry started his radio career in Liberal, KS. while attending college for veterinarian medicine. He got a job at a station working part time and fell in love with radio and has been in the business since. Over the years he has been working at stations in Kansas and Oklahoma which included his own internet station that included a video internet sports station. He is finally back home in Texas (originally from Houston) and is our operations director here at Center Broadcasting Co.

Rob Payne

Rob Payne is continuing the tradition of Payne's Community News on KDET. Rob is the 3rd generation of the Payne family keeping Shelby, San Augustine and surrounding counties updated with local news and events. Rob's grandparents, Rex and Phabrice Payne began Payne's Community News in 1949, and for many years, they delivered it from Payne & Payne Hardware Store. Vance Payne, Rob's father, kept the radio show going from 1982 thru 2007, and he was famous for his popular coffee "slurpin' ". Rob worked at Payne & Payne Hardware Store and then moved into teaching at Center High School for 15 years and he was a director at Camp Huawni in Timpson. Now, in addition to delivering Payne's Community News, Rob works with his wife, Kim Borders Payne and her family at Borders Poultry Supply. Rob & Kim have 2 sons, Rex and Zac.
