Sister Shirley McRae, 80, of Center, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2024, in Center, surrounded by loved
ones.
A private family graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Strong Cemetery in
Huxley with a public visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Bro. Coy
Hicks will officiate, assisted by Bro. Eric Bolebaucher.
Born February 27, 1944, in Center, Sister Shirley is the daughter of Melvin Mayfield and Irene Strong Mayfield.
She was a former Pastor’s wife at Sardis Pentecostal Church in Sardis and was most recently a member of Center
First United Pentecostal Church in Center.
She is survived by her children, Keith McRae and wife Sami Jo and Sheri Martin and husband Andy;
grandchildren, Jennifer Ray and husband Stevie, Alicia Gierak and husband Matt, Chris McRae, Nicole Neal, and
Blaine McRae and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Hunter and Ryder Davis, Luke, Reese, and Chase Gierak, and
Kohen McRae; and brother, Larry Mayfield and wife Lynda.
She is preceded in death by husband, Edward McRae; parents, Melvin Mayfield and Irene Strong Mayfield; and
sister, Mavis McCauley.
