Kenneth Walker Sr.

Kenneth Walker Sr., 64, of Center, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2024, in Center.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Abundant Love Ministries in Center with
Bro. Marlin Cloudy officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Shelby County.
Kenneth Walker Sr. was born to the late Betty Walker and Jimmy Walker on September 20, 1960. He attended
and graduated school in New York City, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Marilyn Walker; and niece, Tasha Walker. He met and
married Orie Shepherd June 10, 1983. To this union a son was born, Kenneth Walker Jr.
He joined Abundant Love Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Marlin Cloudy. Kenneth had a restaurant
called “The Smoke House.” He worked at Holly Farm, Tyson Food, and Pilgrim Pride. He had his own trucking
business called “The Underdog Trucking.” Kenneth’s hobbies were cooking and riding motorcycles. He joined the
Marshall Hawgriders MC on August 21, 2022.
He leaves to cherish his memories his love wife, Orie Walker (Polue); daughter, Latress Porter (Bobby) of Royce
City; sons, Shaquille Shephard of Irving, Texas, and Kenneth Walker Jr. of Center, Texas; grandchildren, Alysha
Moore, Jayla Moore, Shaquille Jace Shephard, Noah Saheed Shephard; sister, Nyree Akine of New York City, New
York; brother, Wilbert Walker of Dallas, Texas; aunts, Carnetha Bradford of Dallas, Texas, Monetress Sanders-
Vasquez of Las Vegas, Nevada, Ida Weaton of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Sheila Sanders of Las Vegas, Nevada;
uncles, LeRoy Hughes and Loretta Hughes of San Augustine, Gregory Pickrom of Las Vegas, Nevada, Phillip
Sanders of Eudora, Arizona, Darrell Sanders of Kilbourne, and Ronnie Sanders of Dallas; goddaughters, Makeishia
Berry Bluford and Shya Stransberry; godson, Jy’Kyri Boyd; best friends, Arnest Boyd and Donny Young; and a
host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Derral Smith, Derrick Hays, Frederick Pipkins, Cedric Thomas, Clifton Davis, and Charles Leary.
