James Quinton Curry

James Quinton Curry, 76, of Joaquin, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023, in Center.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2023, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center with visitation held prior, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Dale Gannon will officiate. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Logansport, Louisiana.

Born November 8, 1947, in the Bethel Community of Logansport, Louisiana, James is the son of Solan Curry and Ruby Whitton Curry. He served in the United States Army and later went on to work as a welder for General Electric, retiring after 30+ years of service. Quinton loved riding Harley motorcycles with family and friends. He was a member of Stanley Church of Christ, where he served as song leader.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelley McDaniel and husband Jerry D. of Joaquin; grandchildren, Jace McDaniel of Joaquin, Addison McDaniel of Joaquin, and Sawyer McDaniel of Joaquin; sister, Bobbie Gannon and husband Jerry of Logansport, Louisiana; brother, Ted Curry of Logansport, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Curry; and parents, Solan Curry and Ruby Whitton Curry. Pallbearers will be Jace McDaniel, Sawyer McDaniel, Rocky Curry, Michael Curry, and Wesley Gannon.
