Naomi Joyce Verner Brimhall

Naomi Joyce Verner Brimhall, 74, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2023, in Angleton, Texas. She was born December 9, 1949, in Paris, Texas to the late James Walter Verner and late Velma Davis Verner.

  Funeral service will be held at 12PM on Monday, December 8, 2023, at New Hope Congregational Methodist church, Center.

Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 11AM at the church. Naomi graduated from Center High School in 1968, followed by earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree at Stephen F Austin University. She taught elementary school for over 25 years in the Hearne and Bryan school districts before retiring. Naomi was a long-time member of the Church of the Nazarene in Bryan, Texas. She was a strong Christian who loved God and believed she was spared through several health crisis' so she could help others along the way. She developed and maintained many long-term friendships throughout her schools and church and neighborhood. Naomi's vibrant nature, smile and laugh were infectious, and she enjoyed time spent with her friends and family. She loved telling funny tales and making others laugh. Naomi met Ron Brimhall in Bryan, and they were married in May 1995. They had many adventures in their 25 years together. She was also very talented and possessed numerous skills, including pianist, playing at church and at home; seamstress, learning as a girl and making many of her siblings' clothes; and jewelry maker, learning as an adult how to use the tools; and always caring for friends, being concerned for others, and showing generosity. She had a sweet and beautiful soul. 

Naomi is survived by her sisters, Mary Mitchell of Nacogdoches, Jane (Merrell) Anderton of Sheffield, Alabama, Carolyn (Darren) Wines of Lake Jackson, Texas, sister-in-law Betty Verner of Lufkin, nephews and nieces, Craig (Shannon) Verner, Tim Verner, Wanda {Paul) Edwards, Sharon (Vance) Maddox, June (Glenn) Merritt, David (Suzie) Verner, Jason (Ashley) Verner, Matt (Sarah) Verner, Cynthia (Will) Pounds, Stephen Mitchell, and numerous great and great- great nephews and nieces.

In addition, Naomi gained six sons through marriage, Michael, Todd, Patrick, Tyson, Derek and Sean, and each of their families. 

Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Velma Verner, husband, Ronald M. Brimhall, brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Laura Verner, brother, Gerald Verner, brother- in-law Roy Mitchell. 

Pallbearers serving will be O. C. Perez, Cliff Collard, Stacy Collard, Ernie Garcia, Merrell Anderton and Darren Wines.
