Hicks Mortuary is announcing the death of Mrs. Dorothy Mae McCollister (69) of Center, Texas. Mrs. McCollister was born to the late Earsel Gardner and Molene Mathews Gardner in Shelbyville, Texas on February 21, 1954. Mrs. McCollister died at a local hospital in Tyler, Texas on November 6, 2023.

“Dot” is survived Husband: Leo McCollister of Center, Texas 3 Sons: Kelvin McCollister of Center, Texas; Michael McCollister (Tammy) of Tyler, Texas; and Eric McCollister of Tyler, Texas 1 Daughter: Angela McCollister of Tyler, Texas 1 Sister: Dorothy Cartwright of Shelbyville, Texas Uncle: Lucky Gardner (Wilda) Center, Texas Aunt: Betty Gardner Sanders (John) Center, Texas

Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” Mae McCollister will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 11 at the Bright Morning Star Baptist Church located at 623 Martin Luther King Drive in Center, Bishop Howard Cloudy, Eulogist. Visitation and viewing will be prior to the service from 10:00am – 12:00 Noon at Bright Morning Star Interment St John Cemetery in Center, Texas 75935.
