George N. Shull, Jr., 79, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023, in Nacogdoches. Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at Strong Cemetery in Huxley with Bro. Billy Windham officiating.

George was born April 11, 1944, in Shelby County, to George Nolan Shull and Lillian Guidry Shull. He worked in the oilfield for several years. As a hobby he enjoyed deer hunting and running his dogs. George was an involved member of New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Shull of Shelbyville; children, Brenda Crabtree of Vidor, Kathy Dennis of Shelbyville, and James Shull and wife Tiffany of San Augustine; grandchildren, Anna Sandifer, Kourtney Shull, Brayden Shull, Rhaegyn Shull, and Shaelyn Begley; and one great grandson on the way. Preceded in death by his parents, George Nolan Shull and Lillian Guidry Shull; brother, Eugene Shull; and sister, Jo Ann Shofner.
