Mary Pearl Edwards

Mary Pearl Edwards, 86, of Joaquin, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, in Joaquin.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2023, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Joaquin with Bro. Paul Silvey and Bro. Bobby Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Willow Grove Cemetery in Joaquin.

Born December 24, 1936, Mary is the daughter of Walter Cleveland Madden and Effie Lou Frances Denny Madden. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Joaquin. She was also was a long time member of Eastern Star, Chapter 903 for 64 years and was Worthy Matron during her association with the Chapter.

Mary enjoyed camping and had many camping friends. She was also a great baker, cook, and had a green thumb. Most important to her was her family and the vacations they took together. Mary had a love for her family that by far exceeded just her immediate family. She loved her friends, family, cousins, nieces, nephews, and the list goes on. If you knew her, you knew how much she loved you.

She is survived by her husband, Willie Neil Edwards of Joaquin; children, William Kevin Edwards and wife Mitzi K Edwards of Greenwood, LA. Carla Renee Carver of Grandview, TX; grandchildren, Miranda Estelle Dobson and husband Derek Dobson, Isaac E Carver, Sharon Martinez, Cristina Foneseca, Patricia White, Jacque Greenwood and husband Matt Greenwood; special grand children, Roger Smithee and wife Crystal Smithee, Cliff Smithee; great grandchildren, Ricky, Jazmine, Luis, Maya Cali, Carlos, Jr., Audrey, Christian, Leighton, Elizabeth, Hannah, and arriving in August, Judah.

Preceded in death by her parents, Walter Cleveland Madden and Effie Lou Frances Denny Madden; children, Larry Neil Edwards and an infant son; son-in-law, David Vaughan Carver, siblings, Corrie Rawlinson and husband Guinn Rawlinson, Frank Carl Madden and wife Doris Genelle Madden. Pallbearers will be Derek Dodson, Roger Balkcom, Billy Mac Wilson, Randy Bonner, Jimmy Hamilton, and Aaron Groen.

The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice for their care and assistance during this time. It has been much appreciated and their care by far exceeds anything we expected and gave quality kind assistance to our family.
