Gwendolyn Reené Belsha Hooper, 63, of Houston, passed away Monday, April 17, 2023, in Houston.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2023, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Watson & Sons Chapel. Interment will follow at Old Center Cemetery in Panola County. Bro. Mike McMahon will officiate. Born November 13, 1959, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Reené is the daughter of Elton Lamar Belsha and Zelna Hughes Belsha. Her hobbies included gardening and photography. She was a member of William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Reené was of the Christian faith.

She is survived by her husband, Duane Hooper of Houston; children, Timothy D. Hooper of Los Angeles, California, Robert Brian Hooper and wife Rachel of Shreveport, Louisiana, Alicia Dianne Hamilton and husband Jeff of Joaquin, Texas, William Preston Hooper and wife Shasta of Houston, Texas, Callie Reené Briggs and husband Jackie of Logansport, Louisiana, Amy Diane Fonseca and husband José Loera of San Antonio, and Alex Hooper and wife Evette of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her parents, Elton Lamar Belsha and Zelna Hughes Belsha. Pallbearers will be Alex Hooper, José Loera, Robby Hooper, William Hooper, David Spratley, and Bobby Dale Schwartz.
