Thelma Maudine Leach

Thelma Maudine Leach, 88, of Center, Texas, passed away on November 25, 2022, in Center, Texas. She was born on April 26, 1934, in Center, Texas, to the late Alton Murphy Sigler and Narnie Lee Byford Sigler. Graveside service will be held at Antioch Cemetery, San Augustine County, on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at 2pm with Bro. Don Noble officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday, November 27, 2022, beginning at 1PM at Antioch Cemetery. Thelma was born in Shelby County. Her birth was a surprise. She was born just minutes after her twin sister, Velma. She lived most of her life in the Harmony Community in San Augustine, Texas. Thelma was a very gifted individual. She loved sewing, quilting, painting, and wood crafts. She used to say, “if she could draw it, she could build it”. She also enjoyed gardening. She loved the Lord and was a longtime, faithful member of Harmony Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ann Rushing of Deridder, Louisiana, Rhonda Barlow and husband Jerry of Center, Texas; twin sister, Velma Woodle of Bogota, Texas; grandchildren, Shelia Rushing Burk and husband Jessie of Deridder, Louisiana, Sabrina Causey and husband Cliff of Joaquin; Serina Rushing of Deridder, Louisiana, Marc Leach of San Augustine, Texas; great grandchildren, Alex Goodman, Treasure Chase and husband Earnest, Morgan Rodigue and husband Kurt, Cody Causey, Victoria Rushing, Kylie Rushing, Jazlynn Babin and Travis Hinkle, Victorian Jackson and husband Jacob, Sidney Leach; great great grandchildren, Haylie Goodman, Amora Laird Funeral Home, Inc. Mangum Funeral Home Ozsoy, Abby Chase, Adley Jackson, Kaston Jackson, Levvie Jackson, Anna Hinkle; special friends, Kayla Gunderman; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly. Thelma is preceded in death by her husbands, Clarence "Sid” Leach, RC Scott; parents, Alton and Narnie (Byford) Sigler; son, Clarence Elvin Leach; brothers, Otis Norfleet Sigler, William Henry Sigler; sisters, Wilda Marie Leach Porter, and Mary Helen Blackburn.
