Frances Jean Byrd, 89, of Joaquin, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in Nacogdoches.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, July 10, 2022, at Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Joaquin with Michael Joe Byrd officiating.  Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Joaquin.

Born April 4, 1933, Frances is the daughter of Doris McRae and Thaddeus Bridwell.  She worked as a Nurse Aide at Holiday Nursing Home.  Frances was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Joaquin.

Survivors include children, William Thomas Byrd of Nacogdoches, Mary Manshack of Nacogdoches, Gerald Glenn Byrd of Mt. Pleasant, Steve Edward Byrd and G.G. of Joaquin, and Michael Joe Byrd and wife Teri of Joaquin; grandchildren, Kevin, Melissa, Melvin Jr. and wife Sandy, Larissa and husband Jay, Michael and wife Crystal, Josh and wife Camille, Robert Jr., Crystal, Roy Jr., Chester, Brandon and wife Andrea, Dusten and wife Shaunda, Michelle, Elizabeth, Emily, Alexis, Michalla, Kerry, Korey, Christy, and Robert; great grandchildren, Ashleigh, Baileigh, Kyleigh, Kaylee, Evelynn, Everleigh, Dylen, Olivia, Whitlee Jo, Skylar, Mason, Lucas, Zachary, Drake, Kimberly, Krystyn, Tabitha, Robin, Jordan, Mikayla, Christian, Justin, Makayla, Samantha, Lily, Vivian, Hannah, Andrew, Alison, Oliver, Clay, Lane, Sarah, Kirstyn, Kaitlyn, Lori, Michael, Thomas, Taylor, and Kent.

Preceded in death by father, Doris and Thaddeus Bridwell; husband, Houston Simpson Byrd; sons, James Byrd and Robert Byrd; daughter, Patricia Byrd; and granddaughter, Jessica Byrd.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Byrd, Dusten Byrd, Kevin Byrd, Michael Manshack, Melvin T. Manshack, and Josh Manshack.
