Hicks Mortuary is announcing funeral services for Mr. Joe Louis Lister (85) of Center, Texas. Mr. Lister died on Friday, October 29, 2021, at Nacogdoches Medical Emergency.   Mr. Lister was born to the late Walter Lister and Loyce Goodwin, Lister on August 4, 1936.  Funeral service will be on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the St John Baptist Church in the Africa Community.  Rev. Winston Kibbles will be officiating. 

Mr. Joe Louis Lister is survived by:

Daughters:  Deborah Davis (Ricky) of Center, Texas; Evelyn Simon of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; Laretha Williams (Gerald) of Irvin, Texas; Annette Portley (Joseph) of Longview, Texas; Sharon Watts of Center, Texas; Tammie Moore (Edmond) of Center, Texas; and Marilyn Thompson of Diboll, Texas

Brother:  David Lister of Center, Texas

Brother-in-law:  Randy Hubbard (Gloria) of Center, Texas

Sister-in-laws:  Mary Lister of Center, Texas and Edith Thomas (Walter) of Center, Texas 

Visitation:  On November 5, 2021, at Hicks Chapel from the hours of 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM

Committal:  St John Cemetery in the Africa Community 

Due to COVID 19, masks are required during visitation and funeral services.  All safety procedures are strictly enforced.
