James Aaron Burkhalter, 83 years old, went home to rest in the presence of Jesus on Monday October 25, 2021.  He was born and raised in Center Texas by his parents Travis  and Dora Mae Burkhalter.

 

He moved to Houston where he worked at Coca-Cola then retired to start his own successful construction & remodeling company.  He loved to stay up late, laughing, drinking coffee and playing dominos with his beloved family and friends.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife Laura Burkhalter,  ex-wife Joyce Atkinson, his brothers Billy Steve Burkhalter and Ronald G Burkhalter, his sister Brenda Buckner, his son Randy Burkhalter, and his daughter Patricia O’Neill.  His living children are Wayne Atkinson, Greg Burkhalter and Jimmy Burkhalter.  

 

Survived by grandchildren are Tammy Hopkins, Jennifer Atkinson, Timothy Atkinson, Stephanie Ainsworth and Kriston Moon.  He has 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at Mangum Funeral Home in Center Texas on Friday October 29, 2021, viewing is at 12:00 pm, funeral services begin at 2:00 pm.
