Jo Ann Barbee Rushing, 71, of Center, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, in Center, at her home, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Son Windham officiating.  Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery in San Augustine County.

Born September 3, 1950, in Shelby County, Jo Ann is the daughter of Archie Talmage Barbee and Faye Holland Deason Barbee.  She was a member of Old Salem Missionary Baptist Church and Daughters of The Republic of Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Hugh W. Rushing; daughters, Kimberly Sue Rushing Davis and husband John, Amanda Jo Rushing Wiggins and husband Brandon, and Pamela Faye Rushing Taylor and husband Justin; grandchildren, William Tye Reynolds, Tristian Cole Reynolds, Cameron Michael Reynolds, Matthew Ryan Reynolds, Jayden Glenn Wiggins, Brylen Jace Wiggins, Toby Lane Taylor, and Dusty Lee Taylor; step grandchildren, Dusty Davis, Dandi Davis, and Maggie Davis; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Ronda Holloway, Carolyn Harkness and husband Ricky, Barbara McDonald, and Vicky Snider; brothers, Ricky Barbee, Donald Barbee and wife Julie, and Ray Barbee and wife Rosa.

Preceded in death by parents, Archie Talmage Barbee and Faye Holland Deason Barbee; sisters, Linda Barbee Couglar and Beverly Walker; brothers, Bo Barbee, William Marshall Barbee, John T. Barbee, and Bobby Barbee.
