Evelyn Faye Thompson, 90, of Joaquin, TX entered into rest Monday, August 30, 2021.  

Faye was born February 10, 1931, in Palestine, Texas to Evelyn Opal Weatherford and Hugh Lawson Solomon. She showed her love through cooking which began at the early age of nine years old when she would pull a chair up to the stove and cook for her three brothers. Her specialties were biscuits, dressing, chicken and dumplings and her infamous berry cobbler. She was known as the “pie lady” at church. Faye also had a love for sewing and participated in the ladies’ sewing ministry at First Baptist Church Tenaha for many years.  She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 3rd, 2021, at Mangum Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 4th, 2021, Mangum Funeral Home with Robbie Johnson officiating. Faye will be laid to rest at Restland Cemetery next to her beloved husband.

 

She is survived by: Children: Cynthia Patterson and husband, Bobby Walter “Scooter” Thompson, Jr. and wife, Donna Carolyn George and husband, Rocky Carl Thompson and wife, Shelia

Grandchildren: Glenn Patterson and wife, Sherry Angie Johnson and husband, Robbie Stephen Thompson and wife, Shelly Brian Thompson and wife, Rachel Lindsey Wynn and husband, Kevin Brooke Kneipp and husband, Rusty Whitton Thompson and wife, Kalita Shayna Harvey and husband, David

Great Grandchildren: Brandon Patterson, Jacob Patterson and wife Jordan, Dallas Johnson and wife, Jasmine, Madison Johnson, Meredith Johnson, Joseph Thompson, Brookelynn Thompson, Timothy Wynn, Jenna Wynn, Julia Wynn, Tessa Wynn, Jett Wynn, Colby Kneipp, Addaline Kneipp, Cutter Thompson, Cody Thompson, Kane Harvey, Trevor Harvey, Avelyn Harvey

Brother: Bill Anderson and wife, Judy; Sister-in-law: JoNell Barnes; Nieces, nephew, and other relatives.

 

Preceded in death by: Husband: Walter Cline Thompson, Granddaughter: Amanda Faye Cossairt, Parents: Evelyn Weatherford and Hugh Solomon, In-laws: Walter and Audrey Lea Thompson, Brothers: Jimmy Solomon, Robert Solomon.

 

Pallbearers will be Whitton Thompson, Stephen Thompson, Glenn Patterson, Colby Kneipp, Rusty Kneipp, Kevin Wynn, Joseph Thompson, Brian Thompson.
