85 year old Sgt Major Archie Willie (Pete) Hartsfield passed away Tuesday, June 1st. Visitation will be Friday (June 11th) from 2-6 pm at Sid Roberts Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Saturday (June 12) at 2pm in Pine Grove Cemetary in Nacogdoches with Pastor Shirley Watts officiating. 85 year old Sgt Major Archie Willie (Pete) Hartsfield was raised in Garrison and he enlisted in the US Army immediately following graduation. He served his country for 30 years in the Army where he received many awards and accolades including the Legion of Merit, the highest peacetime medal awarded by the U.S. Army. He is survived by: 

Wife, Pamela Hartsfield of El Paso

Son, Larry Hartsfield of Nacogdoches

Daughter, Retena Hartsfield-Harrison and her husband Hiram of Center

5 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren

4 Sisters: Shirley Watts and Francell & Mike Horace, all of Nacogdoches, Mary Alice & James Holmes and Joan & Donald Dennis all of Dallas

2 Brothers: Adothus & Margaret McClendon of Plano and LaVance & Etois McClendon of Irving

Along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
