Dallon Permenter

 

Dallon Permenter, 86, of Center, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020, in Center.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 12, 2020, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.


Born November 26, 1933, in Center, Dallon is the son of the late Waymon Leon Permenter and Bonnie Lee Samford Taylor.  Dallon graduated Center High School in 1950. He went on to further his education at University of Texas which privilege he had earned through a Band Scholarship.  In the summer of 1952, while working two jobs in Orange, a night shift at DuPont and a day shift at a gas station, he met his lovely wife, Katherine.  After winning her heart, the two were married in 1953.  He worked as a homebuilder, having built over a thousand homes in the Beaumont area.  Mr. Dallon owned and operated Dallon Homes on North Eleventh Street for twenty-five years and was also president of the Homebuilders Association.  He also served in City Administration for the City of Center, during which time he assisted in designing the John D. Windham Civic Center and several other buildings in the area. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, driving his boat, flying his airplane, playing his clarinet, and spending time with his family.


He is survived by his sons, Mark Permenter of Center and Duke Permenter and wife Marie of Beaumont; daughter, Debbie Stanford and husband Tommy of Beaumont; grandchildren, Ryan Permenter of Florida, Robert Becks of Center, Dallon Becks of Vidor, Katie King, and Josh Permenter; great grandchildren, Michael and Avery Becks of Center, Mallory and Gregory of Vidor, Luke Permenter of Galveston, and Rylee and Kaylee King.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Permenter; and his parents, Waymon Deon Permenter and Bonnie Lee Samford Taylor.
