Hicks Mortuary is announcing funeral service for Mrs. Shirley Johnson of Carthage, Texas.   Mrs. Johnson died, May 24, 2020 at her residence.    Private funeral service will be Saturday, May 30, 2020 at Triumph the Church and the Kingdom of God in Christ in Center, Texas at 1:00 PM.    Elder David Leary Sr. of First Church of God in Christ of Henderson, Texas will be officiating.  
Mrs. Johnson is survived by:

    2 Sons:  Johnny R. Johnson Jr.  and John B. Johnson (Janeth) all of Carthage, Texas
    1 Grandson:  Johnny R. Johnson III of Carthage, Texas
    2 Brothers:  William Thomas, Sr. (Maria) of Tyler, Texas and David Thomas, Sr. (Andrea) of      Dallas, Texas

 
    5 Sisters:  Evelyn Cooper of Tyler, Texas; Geraldine Steel of Center, Texas Deloris Stripling (Verlon) of San Augustine; Sarah Coats of Mesquite, Texas, and Joyce Mitchell (Joe) of Garland, Texas
         
Viewing:  There will be a public viewing on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 4 – 6pm in Center, TX at Hicks Mortuary.  The funeral service for Shirley will be Saturday, May 30, 2020 in Center, TX.  However, due to COVID-19 restrictions, the service will be private and not open to the public
