Jimmy Earl Watts

 

 

Jimmy Earl Watts transitioned from his earthly life to his heavenly home on February 18, 2020 at the age of 83.


He spent his final moments at home surrounded by his loved ones.  Jim was born on November 21, 1936 in San Augustine, Texas to Otis Dee and Willie Maw Watts.  He spent much of his childhood in San Augustine, and eventually met and married the late Mary Delores Cole Watts.  To this union, 6 children were born.  The couple and their children went on to call Nacogdoches home, and they established roots there.  On December 16, 2018 at the age of 82, he was baptized at Nacogdoches Bible Fellowship, where he held membership.


He is preceded in death by both his parents: Otis “Paw Dee” and Willie Mae “Mama Coonie” Watts; his wife: Mary D. Cole Watts; brothers and sisters: Arthur “Bud” Watts, Willie Ed Watts, Spencer Watts, Otis Watts, James Watts, M.T. “Buddy” Watts, Lou Ethel “Gugga” Sterns, Ever Lee Brooks, and Alice Watts; his son and daughter: Freddy Joe Watts and Rostina Watts Menefee; grandchildren: Sharonda Crockett and Centric Watts; great-grandchildren: TiAsia Watts and Kya Watts; and two “brothers”; A.C. “Pete” Brooks and Billy Pleasant.


He leaves to carry on his legacy: Two sons: Jimmy Dewayne Watts, Sr. and Michael Shane Watts
Five daughters: Castina Watts, LaTina Watts, Felicia Payne, Courtney Dodd, and Lorecia Watts.
Sister-in-law: Emma Jean Watts ,A Special Friend: Ms. Virginia Booth ,Plus a grand host of cousins, nephews, nieces, grand and great-grandchildren, and lifelong friends and loved ones far too many to count.


He made sure he shared his motto with everyone he loved, and he instilled in each of us that “Only The Strong Survive”
