James Verlon Luman

 

 

James Verlon Luman, 87, of Center, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020, in Nacogdoches.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at Mt. Herman Cemetery in Center with Bro. Ted Jacks officiating. 


Mr. Luman was born August 8, 1932, in San Augustine County, to John Selmer Luman and Eunice Anderson Luman.  He served in the United States Army.  Mr. Luman loved animals, farming, working in the timber industry, and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith.


He is survived by his children, Janie Andress and husband Mike, Corine Correa and husband Jeff, Tracy Windham and husband Max, Tammie Luman and David Davis, and Robert Luman; special grandson, Scott Brandon Luman; four other grandchildren; and one great grandson.


He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Peace Luman; sons, James E. and Wayne Luman; parents, John Selmer Luman and Eunice Anderson Luman; and four sisters.
