Jerry Jackson

Jerry Jackson, 76, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away on July 30, 2019 in The Woodlands. He was born on February 28, 1943 in Center, Texas to WH Jackson, Jr. and Verna Mae English Jackson A graveside service will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Oaklawn Memorial Park with Tyler Salonius officiating.

A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mangum Funeral Home.

Jerry grew up in Center and graduated from Center High School. While at a school function in Shelbyville, Jerry met Diane Lynch and a lifelong love was born. On April 8, 1963, the two were married in a simple ceremony by the Justice of the Peace and remained lovingly by one another’s side until his passing. Jerry spent over 40 years as a dedicated electrician for General Electric until his retirement. Shag, as his family and friends would refer to Jerry, was a kind and simple man who enjoyed the company of others. He liked spending time outdoors fishing and watching sports. More than anything, Jerry treasured his precious moments surrounded by family. His quick wit with things such as “Hello, don’t hang up” will resonate laughter among those who knew him for years to come. The many memories shared together will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
