David Shires

 

 

David Lynn Shires, 45, of Nacogdoches, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, in Nacogdoches.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Holly Springs Baptist Church in Nacogdoches with Bro. Bobby Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Walton Cemetery in Panola County.


Mr. Shires was born March 20, 1974, in Center, to Thomas Shires and Mary Cranford Shires.  He was a code enforcement officer for the City of Nacogdoches.  Mr. Shires was a member of Milam Masonic Lodge No. 2 in Nacogdoches and Holly Springs Baptist Church.


He is survived by his daughter, Brylynn Danielle Shires of Nacogdoches; sister and brother, Mary Pyle and husband Johnny of Whitehouse and Stephen Shires of Center; nephews and nieces, John and Mandy Pyle of Whitehouse, Jeff Pyle and wife Joy of Joinerville, Scarlet Shires of Center, and Ella Shires of Center; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.


Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Shires and Mary Cranford Shires.

Pallbearers will be Mike McGhen, Eric Couch, Chadwick Christian, Charles Bennett, Keith McCoy, and Tony Hight.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Bennett, Ryan Starns, Jeremy Lawson, Keith Goodwin, Ed Tice Jr., Mike Tice, Stacy Cranford, Brent Hight, and Jim Ed Matthews.
