Hicks Mortuary of Center, Texas is announcing funeral service for Mrs. Zelma Ruth Lathan  (95) of Center, Texas.    Mrs. Lathan passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 a nursing facility.  She was born on January 20, 1924 in Center, Texas.   Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Mt. Zion CME Church 921 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Center, Texas 75935 at 1:00PM.   Rev. Richard Edwards will be officiating.   

Mrs. Zelma Ruth Lathan is survived by:

4 Sons:   Michael (Charlotte) Harrison of Dallas, TX, James Wayne (Zona) Lathan of Shreveport, LA, Claudus (Machelle) Lathan and Kimble (Dedrie) Lathan of Center, TX

1 Daughter, Mattie (Melvin) Suell of Center, TX

12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; special daughter, Linda Diane Ford and family of Monroe, LA; 4 nephews, Marcus (Tammye) Bolton, Joel Lathan, Sr., Larry Lathan and Waymond Malone all of Houston, TX; 2 nieces, Mona Dixon of Houston, TX and Ramona (Arnet) Boyd of Center, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.

 

Visitation:  Monday, May 27, 2019 at Hicks Chapel 804 MLK Jr. Drive, Center, Texas from the hours of 6:00PM to 8:00PM. 

Committal:  Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Westview Cemetery in Longview, Texas
