Bettye Jean Dean, 73, of Tenaha, Texas passed away on February 24, 2019 in Center, Texas. She was born on August 29, 1945 in Center, Texas to Huey Oliver and Imogene Taylor. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Center. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Mangum Funeral Home. 

Bettye grew up in Houston and attended Smiley High School. In 1980, she married the love of her life, Jody Dean and the two resided in Shelby County building a beautiful life of love and happiness together. She enjoyed crocheting and most of all, researching her genealogy. Bettye was a kind-hearted woman with a selfless nature. She took pride in caring for others and most especially her family. She was a member of Church of Christ in Tenaha. 

Bettye is survived by her beloved husband, Jody; son, Eddie Flanery and wife, Sue; brother, Robert Oliver; sister, Sheryl Bosman; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Huey and Imogene Oliver; and son, Robert Otis Thomas.
