Billie Lou Green, 94, of Timpson, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 in Nacogdoches, Texas.    Born January 9, 1925, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Alfonse W. Malin and Helen (Czerp) Malin.

Funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Tennessee Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Tennessee Cemetery, Timpson, Texas.  

 

Visitation will be held Friday, February 08, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Taylor Funeral Home, 511 Ross Graves Dr., Timpson, Texas.

 

Billie Lou was born in Chicago, Illinois.  Her father aquired a position managing horse stables for Texas State Parks, moving them to Kerville, Texas.  She had the pleasure of meeting Texas Rangers, learning to ride horses many different styles, and aquired a passion for loving horses in general.  She graduated from Kerville High School.  Billie met her future husband in Kerrville near where he was stationed during WWII. She married the love of her life, George Thomas Green, November 1, 1944. They moved to Houston, Texas for 15 years, then transferred to Kankakee, Illinois for 18 years.  Billie worked as secretary to the President of the University of Houston, and as secretary to the Publisher of the Kankakee Journal while raising two wonderful children with her husband.  They retired and moved to Timpson, Texas, her husband's childhood home, in 1980.  Billie and George spent over 61 years together before his passing in 2006.  Billie loved spending time with her family, especially the three grandkids.  Billie was a seamstress, enjoyed home décor projects, and was very crafty.  She was a very kind and loving lady.  Billie was most concerned about others, never wanting attention drawn to herself.  She was an active member of Tennessee Presybterian Church and has served in many capacities such as Church Clerk and Elder and she was on the Tennessee Cemetery Permanent Trust Fund for many years.  

She is survived by her grandchildren, Michael Edward Riberdy, Christopher Thomas Green, and Aaron Max Green. Billie is preceded in death by her parents, Alfonse W. Malin and Helen Malin Mackey; granddaughter, Faith Nicole Green; daughter, Patricia Elaine Riberdy; Aunt, Wanda Hintz; husband, George Thomas Green; son, George “Tom” Thomas Green, Jr.
