Billie M. Cruse Kay

 

 

Billie M. Cruse Kay, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, at her residence.

 

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center.  Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Lydia Missionary Baptist Church in Huxley with Bro. Gordon Vaughn, Bro. Michael McArthur and Bro. Matt Comer officiating.  Interment will follow at Strong Cemetery in Huxley.

Mrs. Kay was born July 20, 1932, in Center, to John Cruse and Stella Tyler Cruse.  She worked in the poultry and cattle industry, USDA Sabine National Forest Seniors Program, and was also a homemaker.  Mrs. Kay was a member of Lydia Missionary Baptist Church.

 

She is survived by children, Frieda Kay Lambright of Joaquin, Atwood (Buddy) Kay, Jr. and wife Paula of Huxley, Ken Kay and wife Jill of Joaquin, LaQuita Kay Posey of Huxley, Marsha Kay Cooper of Huxley, Mitzi Kay Edwards and husband Kevin of Greenwood, Louisiana; special son, Bryan Hendricks and fiancé Jordan Nutt of Center; grandchildren, Joni Tarver, Jodi Miller, Kristi Richey, Michael Paul Kay, Mark Kay, Shelbea Comer, Cassie Porter, Jacob Kay, Thomas Posey, Jessie Posey, Michael Brent Cooper, Miranda Dobson, Brylee Hendricks, Bailee Hendricks; 32 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; special caregiver, Pat Woodfin.  She will be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.  She was called “Aunt Bill” by many.

 

She is preceded in death by spouse, Atwood Kay Sr.; parents, John Cruse and Stella Cruse; brother, Ray Cruse, Jackie Cruse, John Wayne Cruse; sisters, Georgia Holcomb, Bettie Weatherford.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Hendricks, Michael Paul Kay, Thomas Posey, Mark Kay, Michael Brent Cooper, Jessie Posey and Jacob Kay.
