Patricia Phillips Pate

 

 

Patricia Phillips Pate, formerly of San Augustine, passed away on October 27, 2018 at the age of 82 years. She was born in San Augustine on November 1, 1935 to James Andrew and Margaret Young Phillips. She married her high school sweetheart, Albert Nelson Pate, February 10, 1951. She graduated from San Augustine High School in 1953 where she was Valedictorian of her class.

Pat was a member of First Baptist Church in Gilmer where she had lived since 2010. She enjoyed her church and Sunday school as long as she was able to attend.  Pat worked for 21 years in First National Bank of San Augustine and for 10 years in Commercial State Bank of San Augustine. She was a member of First Baptist Church of San Augustine for many years. She loved all animals, especially her dogs.

 

Pat is survived by her daughter, Barbara Winfield and husband Joe of Nacogdoches, her son Kent Pate & wife Belinda of Sulphur Springs, and her son Phil Pate and wife Kathy of Gilmer; six grandchildren, Kathryn Winfield Mueller & husband Frank, Kevin Pate & wife Leah, Adam Pate and wife Heather, Aaron Pate & wife Randi, Ryan Pate & wife Shanna, Jessica Allen & husband Billy, thriteen great grandchildren, Andrew, Christian, Eden, Daniel, Evelyn, Asher, Quinn, Kyleigh, Brayden, Karsyn, Moriah, Jaidyn, & Sunday; niece Melinda Jasko of Austin and nephews Marc Metteauer of Waxahachie & Michael Metteauer of Austin. She loved her family & was very proud of all of them.

 

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Albert Nelson Pate, her parents James Andrew & Margaret Young Phillips, her brothers, James Robert Phillips and Joe Clegg Phillips, and her sister, Margaret Annette Metteauer.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home with burial to follow in Liberty Hill Memorial Garden cemetery in San Augustine. Visitation will be at Wyman Roberts Funeral Home.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials to be made to First Baptist Church in San Augustine or First Baptist Church in Gilmer.
