Glen Hudson

 

Howell Glen Hudson, “Rabbit”, 78, of Timpson, Texas, passed away on October 18, 2017 in Garrison, Texas. He was born in Timpson on May 15, 1939 to Norman Howell Hudson and Minnie Lee Courtney Hudson. Funeral service for Glen will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Corinth Baptist Church with Bro. Carroll Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Corinth Baptist Church.
 
At a young age, Glen left home and worked pipeline jobs for several years. In 1960, he and his wife moved to Longview. He worked for R.G. LeTourneau for over 10 years before starting to work for U.S. Industries. He remained there until he retired in 1989. He was very involved in sports and even coached a little league football and baseball team. He served as president of the booster club and was active in the Lions Club. After retirement, he moved back to Timpson in 1989 where he spent the rest of his years enjoying being a grandpa. He also liked to fish, hunt, riding four-wheelers, attending football games, and going to the Country Music Hayride with friends. Glen served on the Timpson Rural Water Board for 18 years and was a member of Corinth Baptist Church. 
 
Glen is survived by daughters, Tammy “Hambone” Hudson, Morgan Brooke Hudson; sons, Marty Hudson, Jeff Hudson and Steven Nelson; grandchildren, Chris, Doug, David, Caitlin, Paige, Blake; great grandchildren, Avery, Raelynn, Cody Cash, Trip, Harley Lane, Coy Lane, Cason; sister, Cindy Summers and husband, Jerry; aunt, Vaudine Taylor; a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gwendolyn Billingsley; brother-in-law, Byron Billingsley; maternal grandparents, Momma and Poppa Courtney; aunts, Alta Hudson and Verlene Roberts.
 
Pallbearers will be Roy Wayne Courtney, Pete Andrews, Justin Oliver, Nathan Ramsey, Ken Ramsey, Orval Miller.
 
Honorary pallbearers are Bob Crump, Darrell Rhodes, Jack Harris, Mike Hudson, Billy Askins.
The family is being served by Taylor Funeral Home in Timpson, Texas.
