Weather Update, Lightning Incidents

We've had a slight break in the severe weather activity across Deep East Texas and Western Louisiana, after the National Weather Service said there could have been some possible tornado activity in southern Panola County near Gary. There's been no confirmation and no reports of damage this morning. Shelby & Panola Counties were both under a tornado warning as issued by the NWS until 4:30, as a strong storm cell pushed across the area. A Tornado Watch was also issued about the same time that expired at 5. The NWS reissued a Tornado Watch for us until 12 noon today.
 
Lightning strikes on a couple of tank batteries at oil/gas well locations this morning. 
 
The Joaquin VFD was called to the Haslam Loop (CR 3590)  behind Brookshire Brothers at 4:14 a.m.. After personnel arrived to turn-off the valve, fireman quickly extinguished the fire.
 
Also, Huxley fireman were called to a tank battery fire on CR 2450 at 5:08 a.m.
 
During Sunday's high winds, DETEC experienced 4 short outages today due to high winds. These outages were scattered throughout Shelby Co. and were resolved quickly.
