Two San Augustine County Men Plead Guilty to Hunting From Vehicle

Two San Augustine men pleaded guilty recently to the charge of hunting from a vehicle from a public road. Dakota Johnson and Tillman Luther were arrested after they shot a deer decoys. Texas Game Warden Lee Hall said the two individuals drove past deer decoys three times and on the third time they illuminated it with their headlight and shot the decoy. Warden Hall said they violated several laws, including hunting at night, off road and during out of deer season. Johnson and Luther also ran from wardens when they realized they had been caught, but were taken into custody after a short pursuit. They each got a year probation, a $500 find and had to give up their guns. If you know of someone breaking game laws, call 800-792-GAME.
