Both the Center Middle School 7^th Grade and 8^th Grade Bands have earned “Sweepstakes” recognition after their performances earlier this month at the UIL Concert and Sight Reading contest in Carthage. Fifty-six bands competed at the four-day event, with 14 bands earning the coveted Sweepstakes award. A band must have a first division at marching, plus first division in concert and sight reading to receive the high honor. Center had the only middle school at the contest to have both their bands earn Sweepstakes Awards. You can see the Center Middle School bands perform their UIL programs and additional music at their Annual Spring Concert held on Tuesday, May 20th in the CMS Gym.
