Center JV Baseball Player Recovering from Collision in Jasper, Suffers Concussion

A Center Roughrider JV baseball player is reported to have suffered a concussion after running into a brick wall that lines the Jasper baseball field during Friday afternoon’s game. Rider Garrett Stanley was reportedly knocked unconscious and had lacerations to his forehead as he attempted to make a catch in left field. Stanley was running and ran head-first into the wall. He was taken by ambulance to Christus Jasper Hospital, then to a Beaumont for testing and observation. Garrett Stanley did regain consciousness and is repoted to be OK. He was to have been released yesterday from the hospital. The Rider JV won the game, 7-6.
