Both the Tenaha Tigers and San Augustine Wolves took tough semi-final loses at the Class 1A, Div. 1 Region III Boys’ Basketball Tournament at Tyler Junior College Friday. Tenaha suffers an 83-49 setback, while San Augustine comes up short, 75-72 in overtime to LaPoynor. Grapeland takes on LaPoynor at 3:30 today in the Region III Final. The winner advances to the state tournament in Austin next week.

At the Class 2A Region III Boys’ Tournament in Nacogdoches Friday, semi-final matches saw Kountze over Jarrell, 85-74; and Tatum defeat Marlin, 79-28. Kountze plays Tatum at 12 noon today for the Region III Championship, with the winner going to Austin.
