Today is Valentine's Day, and Shelby County Outreach Ministries will have their first “Share the Love” event from 10 to 3 at the Center Wal-Mart. This will be an opportunity for you to make a non-perishable food or monetary donation to assist the ministries of the outreach. If you’re not familiar with Shelby County Outreach Ministries, they’re the people that run the nutrition sites in Shelby and San Augustine Counties; Meals on Wheels in both counties, in addition to the Unique Boutique store in East Center, the Helping Hands Outreach, and a very popular food pantry. These ministries can’t function without your assistance, therefore the reason for Friday’s “Share the Love”. Stop by and donate, and we’ll send a shout-out to your valentine sweetheart during the remote from 12 to 2 on Q-100 radio. According to executive director Pam White, without kindhearted and compassionate people donating to Shelby County Outreach Ministries there would be a whole lot more people going to bed hungry and even without a suitable or safe place to sleep.
