Here’s a rundown of the boys’ and girls’ district basketball games scheduled tonight.

 

The Center Roughriders and Lady Riders head to Diboll tonight for District 20-3A basketball games. The Riders are tied with Jasper at 6-1 for the district lead. Diboll is 4-2. Elsewhere tonight, Jasper goes to 5-2 Central, and 1-6 Huntington’s at 2-5 Hudson.

 

In District 22-1A, Div. 1, the Tenaha Tigers are leading at 4-0, and are home to play the Shelbyville Dragons. The Dragons are a game back at 3-1. Also, 3-1 Gary goes to 2-2 Martinsville, and in other action, the Timpson Bears head to Joaquin to play the Rams, with both teams searching for their first district wins.

 

The Shelbyville Lady Dragons put their 6-0 district lead on the line against the Tenaha Lady Tigers.

 

The District 23-1A, Div. 1 race has 3-1 Broaddus at 3-1 San Augustine, 1-3 Brookeland at 0-4 Pineywoods and 1-3 Zavalla at undefeated West Sabine, who’s 4-0.

 

Meanwhile in District 19-2A, 4-2 Central Heights at 1-5 Garrison and 1-5 Elkhart at 3-2 Palestine Westwood.

 

High School baseball practice is scheduled to start today. Scrimmages begin Feb. 3. Girls’ softball scrimmages start next week.

 

By the way, the U.I.L. will make its bi-annual classification realignment announcement on Monday, Feb. 3.
