Shelby County DPS worked a major one-vehicle accident that led to the death of a 19-year-old girl  and the serious injury of a Lufkin woman.  Troopers say the crash occurred on Highway 7 about 1.5 miles west of FM 711.  Reports say a 97 Ford Crown Victoria driven by Robin Griffin of Lufkin was traveling east on 7 at an unsafe speed when it went off the right side of the road.  Troopers say the driver then over-corrected, and began to slide .  The vehicle rolled over  and ejected  both Griffin and her passenger, Kristiana Gamboa , who was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Maxie Eaves.

Griffin was transported to LSU Hospital in Shreveport
