On the morning of December 17th, 2022, the Center Police Department was notified of a disturbance involving an off duty Center PD patrolman. Officers arrived and determined that a criminal offense occurred. The Center PD officer was taken into custody. This is an active investigation, an internal investigation is ongoing. The Texas Rangers have been contacted, as well as the Shelby County District Attorney. The off duty Center PD patrolman involved has been relieved of his duties.
