Skywarn Training

Below is a list of already scheduled classes with location dates and times.  If you would like, I can schedule a class here in San Augustine. It is always fun and informative to have the Senior Meteorologists available to visit in person and ask questions in person. Let me know what you think. (You can always attend at one of the locations listed below).

Master Gardeners.  Education Hours. Let me know. I would like to have as many as possible to make it worth their time and effort.

Despite the current government shutdown, we are still scheduling SKYWARN classes for this spring. However, we cannot come out and teach the class if the shutdown is still ongoing. In these cases, we will email you one week before the class to touch base. A final "GO or NO GO" decision will be made 24 hours prior to a class. In the event the shutdown forces us to cancel, we will do our very best to reschedule your class as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, we still have plenty of dates open! We have only received five requests for classes, so far. You can view our listing of scheduled classes by clicking here. As a reminder, here are some details to keep in mind about the upcoming SKYWARN season.

Dates are available from January 14, 2019, through April 30, 2019. All scheduling requests must be sent to us by February 16, 2019. Each class usually lasts between two and three hours. When requesting a class, please include the following information:

A facility and room for us to teach the class (including the address).
Three dates/times that you would like us to come and teach.
We have lots of meetings and events in the works for this spring.

Giving us multiple dates will provide us with plenty of options to check against our schedule to make sure we can visit you.

Attached is my 2017 letter giving more details on the class.
