At around 12:35 p.m. yesterday 6-4-18, the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call from DeSoto 911 in regards to a possible accidental drowning at the River Front in Logansport, LA. Deputies arrived at the scene and spoke with several friends who had been swimming together at the time of the incident. 

 

The initial investigation revealed that a teenage subject went under the water and did not resurface. Search and Rescue teams from the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office and DeSoto Fire District 1 responded to the location. Divers were able to recover a body from the river. 

 

The victim has been identified as a 15 year old male juvenile. Sheriff Jayson Richardson asks that you please keep the family and friends of the teenager in your thoughts and prayers for the foreseeable future.
