Another Weather Update

Beware...Major change in our temperatures.... Maybe with the wind, we will not have a freeze here in our area, However, we could very likely see frost in low lying areas even with the wind stirring the air around our tender garden plantings.

The rain rate at 11:00 PM last evening hit 5.14 inches per hour rain rate just over 1.23 inches in a 15 minute period. Winds were just 16 mph from the North unlike some with much higher wind gusts.

Here in San Augustine my gauges reflect 1.46 inches total for the event.

Some counties to our North put 4-5+ inches in their gauges.

North SA County 1.5 reports from Geoff Reeder and Norman Neal.

Mid SA County at Swanson Hill - 1.82 yesterday and another .19 for a 2.01 total for the storm.

South County - Waldo Dalchau in Tall Timbers area reported 1.90 inches

Broaddus area - No report. station may be out of service,

Have not heard of damage so far for the county or electrical outages or flooding. Current temp is 45.1 and continuing to drop.... with a 17 mph gust and a steady run rate of 6 mph making it feel like 42 degrees and lower as the winds gust.

Some rain is rebuilding to our North near Tyler and Longview. Lightning is being seen from Sulphur Springs to Hemphill and over to Natchitoches. Most is +Cloud to Cloud, but lots of dangerous - cloud to ground striking well away from the T-storms at 20+ miles.
