TES Competes in Academic UIL – Timpson Elementary School competed in the district academic UIL meet.  Competing against five other schools TES placed second in the district competition scoring 232 points.  Congratulations to the Timpson Elementary School Academic UIL Team.

 

Timpson All-Region Band Students - On Saturday, December 5 members of the Timpson Band traveled to Carthage and auditioned for the ATSSB (Association of Texas Small School Bands) Middle School Band.  The Timpson students that earned chairs in the band are pictured on the back row (L to R):

 

Alyssa Parks ~ 7th Grade Clarinet, 4th chair

Claire Johnson ~ 7th Grade Bass Clarinet, 1st chair

Brittany Hutto ~ 8th Grade Alto Saxophone, alternate (ranked 6th)

Bradley Young ~ 8th Grade Trumpet, 6th chair

KeUnnia Perkins ~ 8th Grade French Horn, 6th chair

Corey Branton ~ 8th Grade Euphonium, 2nd chair

Fabian Martinez ~ 8th Grade Tuba, 1st chair

 

On Saturday, December 12 several more members of the Timpson Band traveled to Rusk to audition for the ATSSB High School All-Region Band.  Two Timpson students (standing in front) earned chairs in the band:

 

Devin Kimzey ~ Freshman Trombone, 10th chair Symphonic Band

Connor Timmons ~ Sophomore Percussion, 3rd chair Concert Band

 

Devin was the highest ranking freshman trombone at the contest, and Connor’s ranking qualified him for the Area competition.  On January 9 Connor will go to Chapel Hill and audition for the ATSSB All-State Band.  Congratulations to all of these fine Timpson Band students.   We are VERY proud of you and thank you for your hard work!
