Rev. Johnny Allen, 89, of Center, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at his residence.

 

Graveside will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville with Bro. Terry Goodnight and Bro. Carl Smith officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home.

 

He was born September 18, 1926 in Green Hill, Texas to Royal “Roy” Polk and Nellie (Rolf) Allen. He pastored churches in the East Texas area and in Louisiana for over 60 years. He was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church in Center. He loved spending time with family and friends and singing and playing the piano with his friends at the senior nutrition center.

 

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Roy and Nellie Allen, Son, Jimmy Ray Allen,

Son, Ricky Lynn Allen, 2 Grandsons, Cory Joseph Bertrand and Solomon Zane Allen and Brothers, Winifred Vernet Allen, Horace Vaughn Allen, Woodrow Wilson Allen, Russell Fleming Allen and Morris “Mutt” Everett Allen and Sisters, Lucy Pearl Allen Cordell and Margaret Kathryn Allen LaPrade.
